DATELINE: Rayville, LA. Richland Parish who has owned a Roto-JETTER™ Culvert Cleaner for just over five years has reported cleaning 30 Culverts in one day with the machine. Not only did Richland Parish clean thirty (30) culverts In one day but they did it with ONE PAID EMPLOYEE! When Richland Parish purchased the Rota-JETTER™ they created a new Parish position of “Drainage Supervisor”. The Drainage Supervisor cleans culverts in the whole Parish. This person picks up prisoners each morning to provide the man-power for the job. He normally picks four laborers each day they need to clean culverts. The two great benefits of this are... 1. The Parish saves thousands of dollars a month using prison labor vs. using their own Public Works employees. The Parish road-workers are very happy because they no longer have to clean culverts. In fact, the Drainage Supervisor doesn't even provide direct labor, he now only supervises the prisoners each day. 2. This accomplishes a task that no one on the Public Works crew wants to do. But the culverts still get cleaned, and as a result, they no longer have the water drainage problems they had before. DATELINE: Dayton, TX. Liberty County cleaned 20 to 25 culverts in one day.
